Exchange Slovak Koruna Banknotes
On 8th February 1993 and 31st December 2008, the official currency of Slovakia was the Slovak koruna. The SKK was further divided into 100 haliers. Banknotes were first issued in 1939. They were minted in denominations of 100, 500 and 1000 korún. Printed onto them were the words SLOVENSKÝ ŠTÁT so people would know they were usable in Slovakia. In that same year the government also circulated the 10 and 20 koruna banknotes. Slovakia became independent from Czechoslovakia in 1993 and introduced its own koruna which replaced the Czech koruna. This new currency also had new denominations – 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 korún. In 1994 the 5000 korún banknote was minted and issued and the following year the 200 korún banknote was added. Slovakia adopted the euro on the 1st January, 2009. Why not Exchange Slovak Koruna Banknotes with us today?
