Exchange Brunei Dollars
The Brunei dollar became the official currency of Brunei in 1967, following the country’s decision to discontinue the use of the Malay and British Borneo dollar. The currency is denoted with the ‘$’ sign, but to differentiate from other dollar currencies, it often gets referred to as ‘B$’. The currency is subdivided into 100 sen, equivalent to 1 cent.
The BND is issued in the following denominations $1, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $500, $1,000 and $10,000. What is interesting is that some banknotes are made from paper, and the smaller denomination banknotes are minted from polymer due to their high usage, namely $1, $5 and $10. Note size varies according to value. Lower value banknotes are smaller in size. Each note is a different colour and the reverse of the notes has a different landscape printed on them.
